The story behind the Eero Saarinen Style Tulip Table

Eero Saarinen designed the now-iconic Tulip Table in 1956. The table was created as backlash to what Eero Saarinen described as the “confusing, unrestful world" underneath traditional tables as a result of all the legs. With its one central support, the Eero Saarinen Style Tulip Table, creates more space under tables. Legend has it that a drop of high-viscosity liquid inspired the base. Originally designed in 1956 as part of a collection which also includes chairs and a dining table. The coffee table is a classic to this day and still looks modern and fresh.
