The Eames Aluminium Group was given a stylish update in 1969 with the softly padded, EA 217 Office Chair. The two cushions attached to the backrest offer maximum comfort and support for the back, while the well-padded seat provides a relaxed seating experience. With its elegant aluminium frame, the design of the chair follows the principles set in place in 1958, when the Aluminium Group was created. The chair's seat has the same ergonomic form and is constructed from premium leather. The five-star swivel base is height adjustable for preferred position. The feet are fitted with swiveling wheels for ease of movement.

The story behind the Eames EA 217

Charles and Ray Eames were constantly evolving and adapting their designs to suit different needs and circumstances. The Eames EA 217 Chair is a development of the Eames Aluminium Group, which itself started as garden furniture for a private residence. The EA 217 was an exploration into more luxurious, padded forms, rather than the simplistic, minimalist style of earlier Eames designs. Also known as the Eames Soft Pad Chair, the EA 217 is suitable for a large number of uses: in the home, office, conference rooms and reception areas.
